First off... a custom bottle label I did last week for a fellow's new brewsky!

As for how my weekend went, a big part of it was spent on a friend's farm, learning about caring for horses, training horses and trading horses. (Besides being freaking cool it was also research for a Brother Nash character and setting in issue two.) I got to drive through really beautiful country - the weather was perfect and the grass is growing back super green.

There is something so calming about being around that many critters. I'm in the city so often... the trip kinda made me wish I was surrounded by animals a little more in daily life. But she and her daughter showed me all the rabbits, cats, dogs, chickens, guineas, and they also took me around on one of the calmer horses. I was giddy! Giddy UP!

I took a lot of pictures for reference, so I figured I'd throw a few on the blog for y'all.

This weekend I also did a comic cover tribute to one of the best shows on right now, Breakout Kings. On its second season now, and to avoid spoilers I picked an episode out of last season. The concept, writing, actors, and locations in this show... sooo good.

That's it for now, but I'll be sure to let y'all know on here when I get those copies of Brother Nash #1 mailed in. They're coming... they'll probably get here before the end of the week!

The Spider-Woman

Brother Nash MEGAISSUENUMBERONE is off to the printers, and it’ll be out this very month!

(And special thanks to ULTIMATE COMICS in Chapel Hill, who helped sponsor the first issue! You guys rock!)

Since the first issue is off to the printers, I’ve been working on the concept art, as promised! Here’s a new character fresh from issue number two... The Spider-Woman:

These upcoming issues are going to be chock-full of new characters, Native American folklore, Ancient magic, motorcycle vs. 18-wheeler road battles, scary bugmen, and werewolf goodness.
